For the past 20 years, Craig Vroom has served the Hilliard City School District, Ohio’s ninth largest district with a growing population of 16,000 students, as both a teacher and an administrator. Currently he is the principal of Hilliard Weaver Middle School, a building of 850 seventh and eighth graders, and has served that position passionately for the past six years. Prior to that, he was the principal of Beacon Elementary for seven years.
After graduating from Heidelberg University, Craig started his career as a long-term sub for a fourth-grade teacher, then earned his own classroom. After five years at the elementary level, he taught seventh-grade Social Studies before he began his service as an administrator.
Craig believes we are all learning all the time, and that connecting through various mediums is essential to our own growth. That’s precisely why he says he owes much of his success to his colleagues. Craig and his wife share four wonderful children, middle-school age to a preschooler. When they are not shuttling around their children to various sporting events, they are planning the next great adventure.
