Brian has worked for the Sanborn Regional School District for the last six years. He was hired in the summer of 2006 as the Assistant Principal / Director of Curriculum. Brian was namedthe runner-up for the New Hampshire Assistant Principal of the Year Award by the New Hampshire Association of School Principals (NHASP) in the Spring of 2010. In July of 2010, Brian was promoted to Principal after the retirement of his predecessor. In The Spring of 2012 he was named a “40 Under 40” Leader in the community by the Eagle Tribune Publishing Company and the Merrimack Valley Business Magazine. In December of 2012, he was named a finalist for the 2013 New Hampshire High School Principal of the Year Award by NHASP (the winner will be announced in late December 2012). He is a strong advocate of personalized learning, competency-based grading and assessment, and high school redesign for the twenty-first century.
Brian lives with his wife Erica and his four your sons Brady, Cameron, Liam, and Owen in Plaistow, NH. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2001 from Boston University with two undergraduate degrees: A BA in Mathematics and a BS in Mathematics Education. In 2004, he received his M.Ed. in Educational Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Prior to Sanborn, Brian worked for five years as a math teacher at Andover High School in Andover, MA and also served as a School Board member for the Timberlane Regional School District in Plaistow, NH from 2001-2006.
Brian holds certification with both the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Department of Educations in both Math Education and Principalship. He is a member of the following professional organizations: NHASP: New Hampshire Association of School Principals / NASSP: National Association of Secondary School Principals and ASCD: The Association for the Supervision of Curriculum Development. Brian has presented with other Sanborn administrators in local conferences in New Hampshire and Massachusetts as well as national conferences and think tanks in Chicago, IL and Washington, DC.
